Don't pressure your children to write. They will realise that writing is essential to learning in their own time.
Encourage your child to take responsibility for their own learning. Sit down and talk with them about what they want to achieve. When they are ready to learn to write, make writing a part of their daily schedule.
Let them choose which part of the day they will practice their writing skills.
Let them choose which writing activities they will do for the day.
Vary your child's writing activities. One day they can work on tracing a letter, another they can try to trace shapes, another they can colour in. This keeps exercising the muscles needed for writing and also keeps your child interested in writing.
Above all, make learning to write fun. If they are not enjoying themselves, then they need to take a break.
